What is Level 1.5 or Improver?

Level 1.5 - Improver level is for students who are familiar with the Basic Step, Basic Right Turn, and Basic Connection in Cumbia. In other words we will not spend too much time developing those skills. Instead we will use the time to continue learning new techniques and moves to add more figures to your library. If you have taken our Level 1 Beginner Cumbia Bootcamp aka Two Left Feet or at least 4 Absolute Beginner / Two-Left Feet group classes, or one or two private dance lessons in Cumbia with us, then you qualify for this Workshop.

Please No Walk-ins:

We only have 20 spots available. 10 guys and 10 ladies.

All students must pre-pay prior attending the workshop to ensure an even class and the right amount of food / drinks. We do not hold unpaid spots. No exceptions.

Door Price:

If you still want to do the Cumbia Improver Workshop as a Walk-in, it is $40/person at the door the day of the Workshop. If the class is not even, we may not accept your registration until next time the workshop is offered. No exceptions.

What is a couple?

Our definition of a couple is not restricted to just significant others. So it means if you and your friend or family member want to attend, please register as a couple. It just needs to be a male/female or female/female combination. When you register, please include the name of your partner or friend.

If I signed up by myself, with whom will I dance?

No partner is required for any of our dance classes. We ask everyone to pre-register so we can even out the class as the days get closer. You will dance with different people. We create a large circle and you start with one partner and then move on to the next and so on. You will make friends fast!

I can't make it this time around, will you offer this Workshop again?

Do I need to know any dancing?

YES! For this Cumbia Improver Dance workshop you are required to at least be comfortable with the basic step, the basic right turn, and the basic connections. We will not teach these skills during the Cumbia Improver Workshop. We expect students to be able to pick up where we left off to introduce new techniques and use the time more efficiently. If you lack these basic skills, we advise that you first do our Level 1 aka Two Left Feet Cumbia Bootcamp.

Improver Level Cumbia Workshop Syllabus

Only students that complete Level 1 Cumbia Bootcamp or

take a series of group lessons are invited to Improver Level Workshop.

Note: The syllabus is just a guide. Every time we offer our Improver Cumbia Workshops, the course material changes based on the dynamics of the group. We WILL NOT teach the basics step and basic right turn or cross body lead. We will only review it a few times. Afterwards, it is progressive covering more techniques and turns of Cumbia dancing. You can participate in any one of them.
