Special Topic Workshops are elective dance classes designed to add more flavor to your Latin dancing. The dance workshops are one and a half hour long and are offered from time to time. The subject varies as well. For example, our Sexy Moves in Salsa Dancing is offered once every 2 months. No partner is required unless specified.
Size: Just as with group lessons, the size ranges between 16 to 20 students. In some dance workshops an even number of males to females is required (i.e. Cuba Style Salsa Rueda).
Pace: The overall lesson pace is kept an at average of the group. The instructors can not go too fast or too slow and we need to make sure that everyone in the group is meeting the learning objectives and requirements in order to move to the next level. Discuss with your instructor if the pace of the class is not the right one for you. That is if you have been dancing for several years and wish to cover even more advanced moves)
Levels: There are no levels. We teach different materials every time we offer the dance workshops. Workshops are open to all levels students from beginner to advanced. It is always helpful that the student knows the foundations steps of each dance.
Prerequisites: Foundation steps: Basic step, right turns, cross body lead, frames. We will adjust the intensity of the workshop per student basis. At the beginning, we will review the basic steps and techniques needed to successfully complete the class and from there teach the scheduled material.
